V.O. QUARTET
(Not your typical string quartet)Although classically trained, the four females who comprise this quartet share a varied range of tastes and experience, evidenced as much by their entirely self-composed repertoire as by their interpretation of same. Influences include: traditional Irish, British and Quebequois, Gipsy and Klezmer, Country, Pop and Jazz, plus a sustained interest and involvement in Contemporary and Classical music.
Activities in other artistic areas such as Theatre, Circus, Dance and Cabaret, predispose the group to break out of the conventional recital format, in order to engage more directly with their audience in an informal, intimate setting. Current projects include: experiments with folk instruments, percussion, song and storytelling.
